How much speed do you need?
Probably less than you think, and the answer depends on what your household does at once. Add it up below, then pick the plan with room to spare.
↓ Start with what one thing needs
Speed (bandwidth) is how much your house can do at once.
A connection's speed, or bandwidth, is how much data it can move each second. One video stream takes a slice of it. Ten things at once take ten slices. So the speed you need is the total of everything running in your house in its busiest minute.
A gigabit, 1,000 Mbps, is the figure most ads lead with. Keep it in mind as a yardstick while we look at what one activity uses.
A gigabit. Now the pieces that add up to what you use.
What one thing needs
The FCC publishes the minimum download speed each activity needs to run well. These are its figures, not ours.
Source: FCC Broadband Speed Guide. Figures are minimum download speeds for one activity at a time.
A 4K stream, the most demanding item on the list, uses 25 Mbps. Forty of them fit in a gigabit. So the speed you need depends on how many of these run in your house at the same time.
Build your busiest moment
Picture the busiest minute in your home, with everyone online at once. Add what is running and watch your number appear.
What's running right now?
Count everything happening simultaneously, at peak.
We round each activity up so the estimate errs high.
Even a packed house, with several HD screens, two people on calls, a gamer, and a pile of phones, rarely passes 150 Mbps. That total, plus room to grow, is the speed to shop for.
What else makes internet feel fast
Once you have enough speed for what your house does, four other things decide how your internet feels. Each of our five plans is built around them.
Whole-home coverage
A strong signal in every room beats a fast connection that dies down the hall. Dead spots are the most common reason a home feels slow.
Low latency
How fast the network responds, not how much it can carry. It's why a call stays smooth and a game doesn't lag. Speed alone can't fix it.
Reliability you don't think about
Internet that just works, every night at 8 PM when the whole neighborhood is streaming. We manage how many homes share each tower, so the speed you pay for is the speed you receive.
Local people who answer
When something does go wrong, a real person in Southern Utah fixes it faster than any spec sheet can. No plan page lists that, so we say it here.
Pick the plan that fits how you live.
Each of our plans is built around a kind of household: the speed it needs, the coverage, and the priorities that matter to it. Every plan page shows the speed range to expect, and we confirm your exact speed at install.

Want the most headroom we offer? Some people like knowing they will never reach the ceiling, and that is a good reason. Our Ultimate fiber plan exists for them. Pick your speed on purpose, and you will get exactly what you pay for.
